What better place to connect with Harry Potter fans from around the world than at Terminus itself? The following programs are designed specifically to provide a welcoming, informal environment for attendees, and help you chat with others. These activities are included with every registration, and we hope that you take advantage of them.
Excursions
Chicago is one of America’s great cities, and who would pass up the opportunity to see some of its most famous sights with other Harry Potter fans? Wear your robes to the top of the Sears Tower or cast a spell on Sue, the Tyrannosaurus skeleton in the Field Museum of Natural History. Take a Portkey to the Art Institute of Chicago or trade your bangers and mash for some real Chicago deep-dish pizza. Excursions are conference-organized outings led by volunteers. Each attendee will have to pay her transportation and admission, as well as buy her own souvenirs, but we’ll take care of the directions, the reservations (if necessary) and the information. Intersections
The corners and niches of the Harry Potter community are legendary and diverse – and what better way to find others who share yours than through an Intersection? Whether you want to explore Chicago, admire each others’ costumes, or debate ‘shipping over deep-dish pizza, our Intersection program offers you that chance. We encourage attendees to arrange a meet-up for their favorite character, ‘ship of choice, theory, craft, location or anything else that brings people together. Whether you’ve known each other for years or want to meet knew people who share your love of Neville, please consider planning an Intersection. Terminus has collected information on possible locations; you just need to choose the location, time and your group. Once you have, Terminus will post your Intersection so others can find you! Magical Movies
Let’s not forget the Harry Potter movies! During the weekend, usually in the wee hours of the morning, Terminus will show all five of the available Harry Potter films. We invite you to watch the movies with other fans – whether you’ve seen them one time or one hundred!
Vendor Station
While you’re at Terminus, make sure to visit our Vendor Station. Our vendors will offer a variety of merchandise collected from the four points of the compass, from the unique to the merely unusual, the luxurious to the surprisingly affordable, the magical to Muggle trinkets and eccentricities. Volunteering
