September 8, 2008:   Terminus
To the nearly 1,500 of you who came to Chicago, shared your theories, discussed your analyses, showed your fanfilms, sold your wares, sponsored teams, and everything else, thank you. We were glad to play host to you, whether you came from Illinois or New Zealand. Or the U.S. or Canada or the U.K. or Ireland or Australia or Germany or Peru or Puerto Rico or Croatia or Bolivia or South Africa or China or Denmark or Italy or anywhere else. Thank you for being presenters, for being volunteers, for being vendors, for being sponsors, and most of all, for being supporters and adding your enthusiasm just by attending.

Volunteers
Thank you to the many, many of you who showed up early and stayed late to ensure that presenters had someone to provide an introduction, to fiddle with projector lenses, to answer questions and collect lost wands, to sign in attendees with a smile, and to keep us safe and secure. Thank you, every last one of you. Your experience, your patience, and your enthusiasm made Terminus happen.

Terminus Forums
As many of you know, we never announce upcoming events until we have all the i's dotted and t's crossed. We're still waiting for the ink to dry on a few magical contracts, and since we don't have new forums up for future events, we're happy to keep part of the Terminus forums open for you to keep in touch with friends in the meantime. For updates about Sirens, connect to news via its website or sirenscon, and the Narrate Conferences mailing list for updates by e-mail about the Terminus compendium, Sirens website launch, and another upcoming event announcement we think you'll be very interested in.

The Tempest Cup
Congratulations to Kohilo House, who won the Cup! Led to victory by Head of House Skyler Hijazi, the Kohilos took the coveted Cup by a wide margin, though they had serious competition from the other Houses.

The Continents Cup
Congratulations to the Knight 62442 Werewolves, who were victorious in the Trade Winds Tournament.
July 2, 2008:   Terminus online registration closed on July 2 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern. Attendees and ticket holders may no longer add tickets or programs to their registrations. However, if you would like to pay your balance, please use the Change My Registration or Tickets option.

Because our online system is already closed, if you wish to transfer your registration, you must sign and notarize the form, and mail it to your transferee. Then the transferee must present this completed form, along with a photo ID, at the Terminus registration desk. The Terminus staff will then release the transferor's registration packet to the transferee, which will allow the transferee to attend the conference instead of the transferor.

May 1, 2008:   Chicago is a city of big dreams and grand plans, magnificent shopping, unique neighborhoods and world-class museums. While Terminus is in Chicago, you may want to experience some of what Chicago itself has to offer – and what better way to do so than with other Harry Potter fans? For those who are in town before or after Terminus, we invite you to indulge your adventurous side with some excursions to the sights of Chicago.

What better time to meet new Harry Potter enthusiasts than at Terminus? As fans of Harry gather from around the world, why don’t you plan a meet-up – that is, an Intersection – for your favorite group? Are you a ‘shipper, a crafter or a cosplayer? A Slytherin, a Ron fangirl, or a theorist? Organize an Intersection and invite others who share your passion to join you! We’ve updated our Intersection Instructions to include some popular locations in downtown Chicago near the Hilton Chicago Hotel to get you started.

Our Vendor Station is now sold out; while our online listing of vendors is not yet complete, the page has been updated with a few vendor listings.

Registration price increased to $180.

March 3, 2008:   Accepted Proposals page was added with information regarding the programming that will be offered on August 8, 9, and 10, 2008. Please be aware that this is only a partial list of the programming that will be offered at the conference. February 1, 2008:   Wrock Chicago was upated with information on the Twenty-Fifth Band Competition. Right now, we have twenty-four bands on the lineup for Wrock Chicago, the amazing, all-day wizard rock festival that takes place the day before Terminus. The event will feature three stages, ten hours of wizard rock...and twenty-five bands.

This competition will determine who our twenty-fifth band is, and Terminus invites all witches, wizards and wrockers to enter. If you win, we’ll feature your band alongside wizard rock bands both new and established, well-known and just discovered. We hope you choose to enter. We’re going to wrock Chicago, and you could be part of it!

January 16, 2008:   As we embark on our fundraising efforts for Terminus, we've decided to start giving back even before the conference, and we hope that the effort will be led by the generous fan community. To show support for the incredible diversity, creativity, and charity of the fan community, we've decided to do something entirely different for Artists and Authors Night at Terminus. We'd like it to be sponsored not by a corporation, individual, or single group, but by the fans for the fans!

Thank you to everyone in the Harry Potter fan community for your overwhelming support over the years and for your continued interest in our events. Thank you for considering participation in our "Fandom Sponsors Fandom...and More!" program.

Spinner’s Cast, a diverse Harry Potter podcast founded in 2006, will feature some of their regular elements along with wizard rock interviews and an interactive CallOUT segment, where the audience can sound off about book-related issues. Finally, FictionAlley’s SpellCast, which is focused on fanfiction, will present a live podcast play with conference attendees as voice actors.

October 1, 2007:   Terminus is thrilled to announce a special pre-conference wizard rock event: Wrock Chicago!

In 2000, the Switchblade Kittens rocked the Harry Potter fan community with "Ode to Harry." In 2002, Harry and the Potters began playing libraries around the country. In 2007, more than 200 bands reimagined Harry Potter on the electric guitar, the piano, even the hammered dulcimer – a phenomenon known as "wizard rock." And in 2008, in a special pre-conference event, Terminus will present Wrock Chicago.

Wrock Chicago will feature 25 bands and three stages of fantastic wizarding music, celebrating both the exceptional creativity of the bands themselves and the inspiration of their imagination: the Harry Potter series. The concert will start at noon and won't finish until midnight, and many of the bands will have merchandise available for purchase for anyone looking for a CD or a t-shirt from a favorite band.

We hope you'll join us for this historic event. We're going to wrock Chicago – and we hope you are, too!
