Keynote Presentation, Wizard Rock Concert and Tournament Tickets

Some of Terminus’s presentations and events are optional add-ons and require a ticket separate from a conference registration. These events include our keynote presentations, our wizard rock concert, and our Quidditch and trivia tournaments. We charge extra for these events to cover the additional costs we incur in providing meals, renting additional space, and even purchasing t-shirts for participants.

At this time, online registration has closed for all ticket purchases. Tickets to Wrock Chicago, the Bon Voyage Ball and Potter Future: The Changing Face of Fantasy Literature will be available at the door, which is located in the Astoria Room on the third floor of the Hilton Chicago Hotel. Wrock Chicago tickets will be available beginning at 9:00 am on Wednesday, August 6; Bon Voyage Ball and Potter Future tickets will be available beginning at noon on Thursday, August 7, and we strongly recommend arriving at that time if you are interested in a Potter Future ticket because we will have a very limited number available. Both Terminus attendees and those unable to attend the conference are welcome to purchase these tickets.

Please note that Terminus attendees do not need to purchase a ticket to attend the Bon Voyage Ball; attendance at the Ball is included with all full conference registrations and one-day registrations for Sunday, August 10 as well.

You may find more information about our ticketed events here: Keynote Presentations, Bon Voyage Ball and Wrock Chicago. Tickets to Potter Past: Lessons from the Harry Potter Series, the Trade Winds Tournament and Thoth’s Tournament of Knowledge will not be available on site.

The following are the tickets currently available for Terminus, and their prices for attendees (and non-attendees):

Potter Future: The Changing Face of Fantasy Literature
         featuring fantasy author Tamora Pierce
    $40 ($50)

Age Restrictions

Terminus’s programming, events and activities are intended primarily for adults. Anyone who is at least 18 years old as of August 7, 2008, may register or purchase a ticket. Anyone who is 14-17 years old as of August 7, 2008, may register or purchase a ticket, provided that they are accompanied by an adult: a parent or a legal guardian, or a chaperone who is at least 21 years old as of August 7, 2008. Accompanying parents, legal guardians and chaperones must register for Terminus, or if the minor is only attending an additional-cost event, the chaperone must be registered for that event. Registrations and ticket purchases for minors will require entering the booking code of the accompanying adult, so adults must register first.

Anyone under 18 who is attending Terminus with a chaperone must have a parental permission slip on file with us. These permission slips may be mailed to us, or presented at the check-in desk on site. The permission slips do require notarization. Minors attending with parents or legal guardians do not need a permission slip.

Please note that all minors must have their parent, guardian or chaperone present to check in for Terminus (or for minors attending only additional-cost events, to check in for those events). Terminus will be holding an orientation for parents, legal guardians and chaperones at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2008, in the Waldorf Room on the third floor of the Hilton Chicago Hotel; while this orientation is not mandatory, we strongly encourage anyone attending the conference as a parent, legal guardian or chaperone to attend. More information will be e-mailed to chaperones in July of 2008.
